Bev Lee P.S.A., P.S.C.M
Bev is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Light and color are the inspirations for her paintings. Her favorite subjects are people and still lifes although she does enjoy painting animals. Her work has a distinctive style that captures the emotion of her subjects in a painterly realistic way.
Largely self taught, Bev has studied at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. She has also attended workshops with Doug Dawson, Terry Ludwig, Xiang Zhang, and Daniel Greene. She paints in pastels and oils as they both suit her style and technique of layering on of rich, vibrant color.
Bev has been juried into numberous competitions and has received many awards including several "Best of Show" and "People's Choice." Her paintings are in both private and corporate collections around the country. She has had works published in the May 2002 Pastel Artist International, the November 2003 Artist Magazine, and the October/November 2005 issue of The International Artist Magazine. She also has had feature articles in the October 2004 and December 2008 issues of the Pastel Journal.
Her book, Painting Children, secrets to capturing childhood moments, is available through North Light Books/Fw publications. She is also one of forty artists featured in the North Light book Sketchbook Confidential.
